Description
As part of our continued growth we are looking for a Linux System Administrator.
In this role you will install and maintain middle-ware software connecting operating systems, applications, or other software components in a distributed computing environment across multiple National General data-centers
Responsibilities
·All production and non-production servers and middle-ware applications – end to end responsibility, from design thru configuration till day to day maintenance.
·Cloud and on-prem infrastructure
·Automate procedures to improve stability and availability of the production infrastructure.
·Exploring and learning new technologies to take the company forward.
·Document the installation process and note configurations, modifications, and upgrades made
·Analyze business and user requirements to design and deliver appropriate technical solutions
·Work closely with internal teams such as Development, Network and DBAs
*Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
** Participate in on-call duties in production 24x7 environment
Requirements
·2-3 years of Hands-on experience with Linux Servers Operating Systems in a production environment
·Strong Troubleshooting skills in an Enterprise environment. Including hardware, hypervisors, operation systems, networking, and applications
·Working knowledge of middle-ware and web applications installation and operation, Specifically, Apache, Apache Tomcat, NGINX, Rabbit MQ & Kafka
·Experience in maintaining DNS, NTP, SFTP, LDAP, SSL Certificates
·Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python)
·VMware infrastructure familiarity
·Proficient with networking concepts and system related services (iptables, firewall)
·Ability to manage and coordinate cross company projects and ongoing activities
·Understanding PCI or similar regulatory concepts – Advantage
·Experience with configuration managements tools (Ansible) – Advantage
·Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS) - Advantage
